2025 Toyota BZ5X Powertrain and Performance

We expect the bZ5X will have more power than the bZ4X, as the latter’s max of 214 horsepower in dual-motor configuration will be insufficient for a three-row SUV packed with people and their possessions. We’ll have to wait till additional information regarding the bZ5X becomes available.
Gas Mileage
The smaller bZ4X’s 71.4-kWh lithium-ion battery is unlikely to be enough to provide the bZ5X with a reasonable range. As a result, we anticipate that the bZ5X will utilize a battery of approximately 85 kWh or larger, allowing it to go at least 250-280 kilometers.
Toyota promised new batteries that would quadruple the driving range of current models earlier this year, but it is unclear whether this will apply to the bZ5X.
The bZ4X also has lower peak charging speeds than competitors (150 kW maximum), something we hope the bZ5X will improve on, especially given that the incoming Kia EV9 requires less than 25 minutes to recharge its battery from 10 to 80%.

New 2025 Toyota BZ5X Exterior and Colors
The Toyota bZ5X – assuming that’s what it’ll be named – has a boxier profile than the bZ4X, allowing for a third row of seats. The extended roofline and flush-fitting door handles give it a beautiful appearance, while the squared-off wheel arches are well done.
The front design is strikingly similar to the bZ4X, with its closed-off grill area and angular slots for the headlights. The concept also features glossy black detailing on the lower front half of the body, the bottom of the doors, and the entire hood and roof. At this point, the Toyota bZ5X’s whole color palette is unknown, but we predict a conservative palette of black and a few grays/silvers, with perhaps a more vibrant red to break things up.
We haven’t gotten a decent look at the concept’s back, but it appears to have wraparound taillights that almost reach the C-pillar.
Toyota BZ5X Dimensions:
Toyota has not published the official dimensions of the new bZ5X SUV, but we may draw some analogies to the three-row Highlander. The vehicle’s dimensions are 194.9 inches in length, 68.1 inches in height, 76 inches in width, and 112.2 inches in wheelbase. The Highlander does not have much space in its third row, but assuming identical key dimensions for the bZ5X, it should be more capacious given its electric engine.
An electric SUV of this size can easily weigh approximately 5,000 pounds, which is around what we expect for the bZ5X.
2025 Toyota BZ5X Interior
Regarding the inside design of the 2025 Toyota BZ5X, this electric SUV will be completely new. So we can expect its interior design to be more opulent and appealing, as well as to deliver a more premium travel experience for passengers in the BZ5X.
The 2025 BZ5X is slated to include comfy seats with the option of leather upholstery. Adjustable seats, including lumbar support and memory settings, can enhance the driving experience. We hope the bZ5X’s interior is more adventurously fashioned than the bZ4X’s cabin (shown below), which we felt to be a little bland to look at, thanks to the abundance of gray, dismal textiles and plastics.
The bZ5X’s main distinguishing feature will be its third seating row, which should raise overall seating capacity to seven or eight occupants depending on how it is configured. SoftTex imitation leather upholstery will most likely cover the seats in more premium Toyota bZ5X levels, with additional eco-friendly materials sprinkled around the cabin.
